I'm a freelance photographer based in Manchester, UK

I come from Oporto, Portugal. For 8 years I lived and worked in Barcelona, Spain.

My passion for photography began in 1994, when I was 20 and studying Film Directing at University.  After finishing my degree I realize that film implied a crowd to work with, while as a photographer I could rely on my own and work alone.

I always try to keep things as simple as possible, leaving the main subject to emerge on its own.
My choice for black and white is based alone on my colour blindness, in monochrome I see with what I'm dealing and can better control my work. 

I focus mainly on street photography, which allows me to be an spectator, on the outside, with no influence whatsoever in the scene captured. Post-production allows me to make mine a moment that wasn't in the first place.

Apart from street photography, I'm becoming more and more interested in portraiture, in my own studio or on location.

I'm available for commissioned work and always willing to show my work in solo or collective exhibitions.
